“Calçotada” is a typical Catalan food.
Its origin is attributed to the city of Valls, in the Tarragona region of l’Alt Camp, but thanks to its community food character, it has been spreading, and is currently enjoyed throughout the community. The season is restricted to the months when “calçot”, its main ingredient, can be harvested from late winter to mid-spring.
